Tech Start for Law

To encourage law firms to adopt technology to enhance efficiency and productivity, the 'Tech Start for Law' Programme was jointly launched recently on 27 February 2017 by the Ministry of Law, the Law Society of Singapore ('Law Society') and SPRING Singapore. Up to $2.8 million has been allocated for the ‘Tech Start for Law’ programme which will end on 28 February 2018. Law firms looking to adopt technology to improve their productivity will receive funding support of up to 70% of the first-year's cost for technology products in practice management, online research and online marketing. The SmartLaw Assist and SmartLaw recognition schemes were also launched by the Law Society at the same time. The SmartLaw Assist scheme which runs till 30 June 2017 will provide law firms with a 70 per cent subsidy on first-year subscription costs for an online knowledge database. The $300,000 scheme is being funded by the Law Society Education Fund on a first-come, first-served basis. More information on the SmartLaw Assist scheme and how to apply can be found here.

The SmartLaw recognition scheme allows law firms that have a practice management or accounting software, an online knowledge management database and an online presence to use the SmartLaw logo on their website and marketing collaterals.
